Sterling’s Full-Size Truck Capsule Service Mechanic package allows your to maximize efficiency on the job site as everything has a place, and you can take everything you need with you. This simple & practical service mechanic package layout allows you to safety operate a mobile work station and increase your billable hours as you will have less wasted time searching for your gear. We use Aluminum equipment to help reduce noise while in motion and to preserve the life of your Vehicle Upfit. Aluminum is spectacular because it is durable yet flexible. The service mechanic package will withstand all you can throw at it, and more! This equipment is then installed in our fiberglass slip-in truck capsules which maximize cargo space in for your equipment storage. This capsule is made of one mold and is completely sealed from the elements and eliminating condensation entry points. It is able to be transferred between trucks by lifting from the inside roof, it’s the most durable fiberglass capsule on the market.

The slip-in capsules are installed with a heavy-duty mounting kit designed to withstand off-road and urban environments. With a life-span of more than 10 years, they are ideal for fleets using leased vehicles or if a purchased vehicle it being retired. You will need to purchase a new mounting kit from Sterling for approximately $300. The process of transferring the slip-in capsule take about a day to remove the old mounting kit and disconnect electrical and then mount on the new truck. Some customers do it themselves if they have their own shop and others hire a local mechanic transfer the unit.
Note: you will need access to a forklift with long forks. A Sterling representative will be happy to answer any question you may have.

Sterling’s slip-in capsules are compatible with most domestic pick up trucks and can be transferred to a different model as long as it has the same bed length.
Yes. Sterling’s capsules come with a 10-year warranty.
Yes. We ship slip-in capsules complete with the upfit package to customers throughout North America. Some are able to install themselves or they find a local shop to install on the truck. We will provide detailed installation instructions which can be found through a decal with a QR code located on the inside door of the capsule.

Sterling’s capsules are for commercial use and come with basic upfit packages.
Our slip-in capsule upfit packages come with backup cameras that are located above the rear door and utilize your truck’s existing screen.
The weight depends on the size and upfit package and can range from 385lbs for our smallest cab-height capsule to 1500lbs for our largest full-height capsule with upfit. The weight for each cap can be found under Additional Information on the product page.
